LGBT Christian Book(s):
Cross.2Freedom.com, the online source for LGBT Christian Books, has been
reorganized and a new section was added: Recommended Bibles. These include the
three volumes of the Inclusive Old Testament and a volume of the Inclusive New
Testament. These Bibles do not simply replace masculine pronouns, as many
so-called ‘inclusive’ Bibles do, but they really seek to be faithful to the
original Greek. For example, the Greek word translated brothers or brethren
could have included women (like the French word “Ils” or Spanish “Ellos”). This
Bible addresses both issues of gender, and also many of the passages often used
to condemn gays and lesbians are translated in a manner which expresses more
clearly what was implied in the original text. There are also some study Bibles
recommended.
The LGBT Christian Books section has also been expanded with additions such as
The Queer Bible Commentary and also Queer Commentary and the Hebrew Bible, both
on Page eight.

Quote for Reflection:
“Only Christianity, through the Risen One, announces a union, without separation
or confusion, between earth and heaven, between humanity and the Living God.
Only Christianity announces, prepares, and anticipates, in sacrament and
sanctity, the transfiguration of the world and of history. With the
Resurrection, the universe enters into its final metamorphosis. God became man,
so that man could become God: it depends on our liberty illuminated by the Holy
Spirit, that ‘the fire hidden and smothered under the cinder of this world
splits apart and divinely sets fire to the rind of death’ (Saint Gregory of
Nyssa).”
